A tiff between Marzi Pestonji and Chetan Bhagat in 'Nach Baliye'?

Mumbai: Marzi Pestonji, who had earlier judged Dance India Dance, will soon be back on TV with much talked about program that is in its seventh season, ‘Nach Baliye’, where Preity Zinta and Chetan Bhagat will join him on the judges’ panel.

While the show has not even begun and there are reports already of a tiff between Chetan and him. Marzi says in a light-hearted way, “We Paarsis don’t fight and anyway there are so few of us left, that we can’t afford to fight with anyone. We are like dinosaurs. So no fight with anyone, now or in the future.”

On reality shows it is common that the popular actors are the ones making it to the top rather than the most talented ones. Marzi nodding his head to this says, “I don’t watch TV shows but I am aware of their popularity. Which is why it is important that the judges have a certain amount of control in deciding who goes head in the show. I will purely judge couples on dance and nothing else.”

Ask him about his all time favourite dancers and Marzi says, “Having worked with Shiamak Davar I’ve choreographed for everyone from Hrithik Roshan to Shahid Kapoor and all the top stars but if I still have to choose I love Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan. Ash is the most graceful dancer with lovely expressions, Abhishek is fun.”

Speaking about his co-judges Preity Zinta and Chetan Bhagat, Marzi says, “Ive known Preity since a long time. I’ve worked with her for stage shows and tours. Chetan though I didn’t know personally, I’ve heard a lot about him. Yes I was surprised too, hearing he is judging the show but I think he can offer a different perspective.”

Speaking about work, other than the show Marzi tells us, “Shiamak has a couple of films coming up so I will be working on those projects. I was free, when the show was offered to me which is a good thing, I can focus here.”
