Samajwadi Party seniors not convinced by Janata parivar unity
New Delhi: Even though six Janata Parivar outfits have announced their merger, large sections of the Samajwadi Party are trying to persuade party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav to delay the announcement of a name for the new outfit. Senior leaders are not yet convinced that the merger of their party into a new Janata Parivar outfit would be of any electoral benefit for them.
“No name of a new political outfit has yet been announced. There has been only an announcement of the merger. As of now, all the six political parties maintain their individual identities,” said a senior SP functionary.
With the Bihar Assembly elections slated for October-November this year, senior SP functionaries are trying to impress upon Mr Yadav that he should wait for the outcome of the state polls.
