JEE Advanced to be conducted on May 24

Andhra Pradesh, Telangana are top scorers in JEE mains

Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh and Telangana students dominated the JEE Main exams this year too.

Repeating their success from previous years, students of Sri Chaitanya Narayana Educational Institutions ruled the JEE Main scores that were announced on Monday by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Two AP students scored the highest marks.

Two students of Sri Chaitanya Narayana from AP, B. Vidya Sagar Naidu and K. Nagendra Reddy, scored the highest, 340 marks, while Hyderabad student R. Nihar Chandra scored 336 out of the maximum 360. About 1.5 lakh students from all over the country qualified for the JEE Advanced to be conducted on May 24.

Almost 30 per cent of the students who qualified for JEE Advanced are believed to be from AP and TS. Sri Chaitanya Narayana had 51 students with more than 300 marks while hundreds from the institute qualified.

Director of Delta Academy for IIT-JEE M. Srikanth said 52 of their 75 students had qualified for JEE Advanced while 538 of the 800 FiitJEE Hyderabad students made it past the JEE Mains.

The cut-off for OBC category was 70 while for SC and ST categories, it was 50 and 44 respectively. Both top scorers this year are from AP while the third best score went to TS.

Top scorer B. Vidya Sagar Naidu hails from Rajam in Srikakulam. His father is a teacher in a government school. Nagendra Reddy hails from Nellore in AP.

His father is a lecturer in Narayana Educational Institutions. Both Vidya Sagar and Nagendra Reddy said they aspired to study Computer Science Engineering in IIT Bombay.

The two toppers thanked Narayana Sri Chaitanya for the coaching and expert guidance.
