Court defers judgement on Satyam Raju’s plea till Monday

B. Ramalinga Raju and nine others seek suspension of their sentences and the fines
Hyderabad: The court for the Eighth Metropolitan Sessions Judge-cum-Economic Offences here at Nampally deferred its order on the applications filed by B. Ramalinga Raju and nine others seeking suspension of their sentences and the fines imposed on them in the multi-crore accounting fraud involving Satyam Computers to Monday.
M. Laxman, the special judge, on Thursday heard the arguments and counter arguments. He said he will pronounce the order on Monday. Ramalinga Raju and the nine other convicts are currently lodged in the Cherlapally Central Prison. They had filed the appeals and applications in the MSJ court on Monday, challenging their conviction, besides sentences and fines imposed by the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court in the scam.
