For now, I am focusing on Hindi cinema: Akshara Haasan
Akshara Haasan says clearly that Bollywood comes first for her. “For now, I am focusing on Hindi cinema, because I started there,” says the Shamitabh actress.
The daughter of the Kamal Haasan, Akshara says that when it comes to films, her father pretty much lets her chart her own path. “Dad lets me do my own stuff. He thinks I will figure it all out eventually, which is what I am trying to do,” she says.
Akshara’s elder sister Shruti too is enjoying a good run at Bollywood with her recent release Gabbar. Was there any sibling rivalry between them? “Like any other siblings, we too had our own share of fights. But my mom was there to guide me and help me through that phase,” adds the actress.
On the red carpet, Akshara has recently been spotted in black only. But, that’s about to change. “Black is my favourite colour. During the promos of Shamitabh, I did wear a lot of black and now, it has become a little too much. I would like to experiment. But fashion for me, is all about comfort. I like to pick and choose between brands. I also like picking up stuff from the roadside. When it comes to fashion, I like to be myself,” she says.
And what does she love other than cinema? Well, the actor is a die-hard football fan. “I play a lot of football. My favourite teams are Liverpool and Barcelona. I think Steven Gerrard and Lionel Messi are beautiful players. That apart, I love dancing and photography,” she reveals. Speaking about her love for cars, the actor says, “I studied in a boarding school and my friends, who were passionate about cars, got me hooked too.”
