Shilpa Shetty recalls her struggle with Hindi

Shilpa Shetty, in a recent appearance on Farah Khan’s show, spoke at length about her struggles with Hindi. She said that when she had first come to Mumbai and entered films, she was just a girl from Mangalore who could barely speak Hindi. She was so scared of Hindi that even during her school years, she never participated in elocution or public speaking that involved speaking in Hindi.

A source said, “Shilpa revealed on the show that after coming to Mumbai she had to take Urdu classes from actor Kader Khan who taught her to speak and write fluent Urdu.” In the show, Farah also revealed that Shilpa is from the same city as her husband Shirish Kunder, which is why they get along like a house on fire.
