Motorola rolls out Android 5.1 Lollipop update for Moto E (2nd Gen)
Soon after Moto X (2nd Gen) received its update, Motorola has rolled out the latest Android 5.1 Lollipop updates for the Moto E (2nd gen). Principally, both the Moto E (2nd Gen) and its 4G variant are receiving the latest operating system update. As soon as it comes to India, users shall receive an automatic OTA update for the same.
On its official website, Motorola posted that the latest OS update will improve stability and provides better control over notifications. After installing the software update, users will be able to block interruptions until the next alarm. They will be able to add icons to the volume settings panel that match those that will show in the status bar.
In addition to dismissing a heads-up notification, in the latest update users can now swipe up the notifications to remove it from the screen. It will remain in the notifications tray and can be dismissed later.
In addition to various other updates, the Android 5.1 Lollipop comes with improvements in the Android Runtime (ART), which will lead to faster application launch times.
Motorola is now testing the Android 5.1 Lollipop for the Moto X (1st Gen), which is expected to be rolled out in few week’s time.
