KTR meets Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, briefs about Telangana’s new industrial policy

Areas in which Microsoft and Telangana government could collaborate were discussed

Hyderabad: Telangana Information Technology Minister K T Rama Rao, who is currently on a two-week tour of the Unites States, met Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella.

The Minister briefed him about the new industrial policy and the single-window clearance for new industries in the state, and also explained the "T Hub" and "TASK" initiatives of the state, an official statement issued on Tuesday said.

Various areas in which Microsoft and Telangana government could collaborate were discussed during the meeting. The Minister also presented a Bidriware Charminar replica to Hyderabad-born Nadella. Later, the Minister and the IT Department delegation visited the Amazon campus at Seattle.

They met Monique Meche, VP, Global Public Policy & John Schoettler, Director, Workplaces Global at Amazon.

The Amazon team expressed happiness at the proactive approach of the Telangana government.

They have assured the delegation that Amazon will continue to partner with Telangana government on various initiatives in future too, the statement said.

The Minister also met Eric Schinfeld, Chief of Staff at Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce.

Earlier in the day, various diaspora organisations in Seattle organised a "Meet & Greet" with the Minister at the Bellevue Library, and he appraised the gathering about the various flagship initiatives undertaken by the Telangana government in the last one year.

He informed the audience that the state government is giving utmost priority to ensure that basic issues like drinking water, power, education and healthcare are addressed in the initial years.

The Minister also exhorted the NRIs to be the Goodwill Ambassadors for the state government, the statement added.
