Take a holiday with your kid
Picture this — a fully dolled up three-and-half-year old Aaradhya Bachchan who accompanies her mom Aishwarya on all her trips abroad. No, we’re not mocking the frivolities of the wealthy, but digging in deeper to find out how these yummy mummies like Jennifer Lopez who takes her twins and also manages a shoot alongside, or Angelina Jolie who keeps bopping around the globe with her six kids, take their kid-vacations quite seriously.
Closer home, there are more star kids who made holiday headlines more than their parents; Vivek and Priyanka Oberoi like to travel with their son Vivaan, Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao have taken Azad to many places, Lara Dutta and Mahesh Bhupathi dote on their daughter Saira and travel with her, Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna pamper Aarav and Nitara on holidays and Raveena Tandon prefers to fly with her kids Rasha and Ranbir. The trend is trickling in and not only the rich and famous, but many others are soaking in life’s greatest pleasures while travelling to different locations with toddlers and tykes in tow. But do the kids even remember the exotic destinations that they travel to?
Anitha Kholay who has designed the IPL cheerleader uniforms agrees that fancy travels with tykes are worth it if you have someone trusted to take care of your kids. She says, “Even though kids below five might not remember these exotic trips, it is only to their benefit. Parents who take their kids with them get a broader understanding of the world around them.
We just got back from Switzerland where my daughter celebrated her sixth birthday and are going to Scotland next week with our two little kids. Kids love different experiences and like to see places and when they’re tired, we leave them at the hotel with our staff (who always travel with us) and go out shopping or party late into the night. Many of our family friends also take their toddlers with them.”The pros far outweigh the cons for many new-age parents who want the best of everything for their bachcha party. Well, what do we say; it’s probably never too early to globetrot.
