Karnataka II PU results: The Maths marks that don’t add up!
Bengaluru: Mathematics teachers don’t know how to add! Hundreds of II PU students from across the state, including tens of students from Mount Carmel College in the city, protested in front of the PU Board office in Malleswaram on Wednesday.
The students said that though they had attempted many questions, including the wrong ones, for which the Board had announced 9 grace marks, they have been granted single digit marks, and have been failed.
Though they protested till late evening, none of the Board officials met them to hear their grievances. “We will continue our fight till the PU Department rectifies the mistakes,” said a student.
Another student, who has secured an average of 90% in all other subjects, has been failed in Hindi. “I speak Urdu at home and it is a language that is very close to Hindi, but I have been failed in the language subject. For re-evaluation, I need to cough up Rs 2,500, but I am not in a position to pay. I want justice from the PU Board,” he said.
As parents and ABVP activists too joined the protest, the premises of PU Board witnessed some tense moments. “We will continue our protest on Thursday,” said Parvathi, one of the students.
