In Dubai, she’s RJ Meera
Meera Nandan is enjoying her life as a radio jockey in Dubai. The last time we saw the actress was in Mylanchi Monchulla Veedu. Now she has switched roles. Talking about her new role as RJ, Meera says, “I want to get used to my new career as a RJ. For this reason, I have decided to take a break from films. When I arrived in Dubai, I found this place to be very different and it did take me some time to adapt to the new environment.”
The multi-faceted actress says that she is thoroughly enjoying her stint as RJ in one of the prominent radio stations in Dubai. “This is what I always wanted to try and I am really enjoying it. It’s clear it is not like any other job. However, once you get used to being a RJ, you can enjoy a stress-free work life. The radio industry in Dubai is competitive and large.
The tough part of being an RJ is that people should be really careful about what they speak. Initially, I was very tense but my colleagues were very supportive. After I started getting positive responses, I felt encouraged and I am now happy about my decision to become a RJ.”
Talking about the most interesting part of being a RJ, Meera says, “I can be myself. Interacting with the people while being own self is the best feature of being a RJ. I love to talk a lot and I can now use this to my advantage.”
She says that her initial days in Dubai were really tough. “I was a girl who was totally dependent on her parents. I had then decided to take the plunge and move to Dubai to live on my own. I understood the difficulties and the responsibilities of living independently. It is totally cool. Of course, I miss my home.”
Ask her if it is possible to work on two professions simultaneously. “I am sure I can manage that. It was while I was working as RJ that I finished the shooting of my Tamil film Sandamarutham.”
