Cannes high continues for Richa Chadda

Richa Chadda is in seventh heaven with her film Masaan scooping up two prizes at the just-concluded Cannes Film Festival. Speaking to us, Richa said the team was thrilled merely with Masaan’s selection for Cannes and that the awards are the “icing on the cake”. She tells us that the Masaan team had already left Cannes by the time the prizes were announced, so they celebrated their win at a Parisian restaurant, close to the Eiffel Tower.

“I met a lot of interesting people at Cannes like Walter Salles, the director of Motorcycle Diaries, French actress Marion Cotillard and Michael Caine among others,” Richa said of her experience at Cannes.

While the fashion choices of Katrina Kaif, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Sonam Kapoor were dissected in great detail by the press, Richa herself escaped similar scrutiny. However, some of her looks, such as the Sabyasachi sari she wore or the Giles Deacon pantsuit and the red-and-pink Andrew Gn ensemble, won a lot of praise from style pundits. “As has been pointed out, people do focus on the fashion rather than the films at Cannes, which is sad,” Richa admits. “As for me, I worked with several stylists and pulled out the best. I’m glad my style was appreciated,” Richa says. Next up for the actress is the film Cabaret.
