It was his portrayal of sprint star Milkha Singh that got Farhan Akhtar the most accolades and appreciation in his acting career so far in Bollywood. While Singh and Farhan worked closely while the biopic was being made, even after the movie wrapped up, they stayed in touch. Now, we hear that with Farhan’s latest film — Dil Dhadakne Do (DDD) — readying for release, a special screening may be held for Milkha Singh and his family.
A source, who is close to the DDD team, told us that Singh himself had reached out to Farhan, saying that he was keen to watch the film. “When the trailer of DDD released, it was very well-received and among those who reached out to Farhan and shared how keen they were to watch the film was Milkha Singh. Mr Singh told Farhan that he really liked what he had been able to gather of the film’s plot from the trailer and songs. Farhan immediately instructed his team that a special screening be arranged for Mr Singh. He is very eager to get feedback from Mr Singh for DDD,” our source reports.
