Schools reopen in Nepal, leaving children to course through debris
The earthquake that devastated Nepal on April 25 claimed the lives of 479 students and 45 teachers. It is assumed that the numbers were low considering that it was a Saturday and that if it were a weekday, the numbers would have been definitely more- Many schools are also advised to conduct classes only in the first and the second floor following fear of earthquakes.
- It was announced that five week school holiday following the quake would be adjusted with the 45 days of summer and winter holidays.
- For some schools, however, reopening so soon after the quake has proved impossible, with temporary classrooms still being built, and continuing concerns about safety and space.
