Hyderabad kid wins Asian school chess silver

Rithvik finished event with 5.5 points from seven rounds

Hyderabad: Hyderabad lad R. Raja Rithvik won a silver medal in the under-11 blitz event of the Asian Schools Chess Championship played in Singapore. Rithvik a Class VII student at the Orchids International School in the city finished with 5.5 points from seven rounds.

In his final round match, against Mongolia’s Tengis Ochir, Candidate Master Rithvik was forced to settle for a draw under time pressure and had to be content with the runners-up medal.
