IIFA diaries: Bollywood in Malaysia
Parineeti Chopra sure enjoys retail therapy. She was spotted at a mall in Malaysia before heading for the main function. Other actors who were seen shopping include Ayushmann Khurrana, Kriti Sanon and Aditi Rao Hydari. Despite looking exhausted from the rehearsals of their acts, there was no stopping these actors from visiting the country’s popular shopping haunts. They also sampled some of the local cuisines and entertained fans as they approached them for pictures.
Looks like Bollywood won’t let Anurag Kashyap forget the disastrous Bombay Velvet any time soon. Kashyap, who was in the audience, was mocked by hosts Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor and so were Ranbir and Anushka, as the hosting duo also held them responsible for making Anurag go bankrupt. Kashyap, however, was a good sport. And it wasn’t all that bad for him as his production Queen won an award for the best film.
In a tribute to Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Ayushmann Khurrana was the storyteller, while Ranveer Singh played Kajol and Arjun Kapoor became Amrish Puri. SRK was played by the star’s duplicate. The fun act had multiple versions of DDLJ portrayed in Prabhu Deva, Karan Johar, Abbas Mastan and Anurag Kashyap’s directorial styles.
The act that got the loudest cheer was when Hrithik Roshan came on stage to present Tiger Shroff with the Best Male Debut award. The superstar and Tiger, who are both great dancers, performed a jig on Whistle Baja, the superhit track from Tiger’s film Heropanti and the audience went into a frenzy.
