I had no pants on day one of shoot: Poonam Bajwa
Poonam Bajwa who is back in K’town after a brief hiatus with Romeo and Juliet, says she signed the film because she found her character instrumental in the dramatic turn of events it contains. The rom-com has Jayam Ravi and Hansika playing the lead roles. “My break from Kollywood wasn’t intentional or pre-planned,” says the actress, and adds, “When I got to know about the script and the star cast of the film, I was sure that the movie would come out well and decided to be a part of it. I play a bold, tomboyish girl — a character which I really enjoyed playing.”
The bubbly actress says that she was impressed by her character, which according to her, wasn’t incorporated just for the sake of having a second heroine. She feels, “My role had enough scenes to make an impact and am content that my wait for a gratifying character has paid off. This was the right film to restart my innings, as it’s been quite a while now in Tamil films.”
Poonam says that contrary to the general idea that two heroines cannot get along well, she had a whale of time with Hansika. “She is humble and so grounded — we shared a positive vibe and gelled well on the sets. Ravi too was an amazing person to work with — he is a good dancer and a thorough gentleman,” she says.
She recollects that the first day of shooting had a funny and slightly embarrassing incident in store for her. “I was meeting most of the crew members for the first time. I had to be in just a white shirt, no pants, for the scene on day one — it was something I wasn’t used to,” Poonam smiles.
