Actress Vijayalakshmi, the daughter of veteran filmmaker Agathiyan, announced some time back that she is quitting acting to foray into production. The shooting of her first film Pandigai kickstarted in the city on Thursday with Kreshna and Anandhi playing the lead roles.
Tipped as a racy action thriller, the film is being produced under the banner Tea Time Talks Productions and will be directed by Vijayalakshmi’s fiancée Feroz. The film also marks his directorial debut.
Vijayalakshmi says, “The movie has a stellar cast and will deal with illegal underground fighting as its backdrop. It also has ample scope for romance and comedy. Pandigai will be completed in two schedules. National award winning Sabu Joseph will handle editing while Vikram will score the music.” Interestingly, Niranjani Agathiyan, the younger sister of Vijayalakshmi , will be the costume designer for the film.
