Telangana launches single-window project approval system
Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Friday formally launched the single-window “Telangana State Industrial Project Approval and Self-certification System Act (TSiPASS)” at a mega-event attended by top industrialists, investors and industry body representatives at HICC.
TSiPASS is said to be the first of its kind in India. “Industrialists will be taken directly from the Shamshabad airport to the Chief Minister’s Office or the Secretariat and for this purpose, a special team of protocol officers has been formed. We can have a cup of tea and from the Secretariat, the concerned departments will interact and process the application.
“The entrepreneurs need not go around offices or departments for clearances. Exactly 14 days later, they will get a call from the Telangana government and the news of clearance will be given. Here everything — i.e. clearances — is centralised and handed over in a single document to the company,” the Chief Minister said while unveiling the iPASS website on which the companies can apply and monitor the status.
“We want to make Telangana the most happening state. We would like to create a Brand Telangana and in future, we would participate in all national and international trade fairs and showcase our products and the investor-friendly atmosphere. We will make maximum use of Central incentives on MSMEs, commerce, textiles and pharmaceutical products,” Mr Rao said.
Industry minister Jupally Krishna Rao said that red tape would be replaced with red carpets.
Chief secretary Rajiv Sharma said that the advantages of the state included uninterrupted power supply, 1.5-lakh acre land bank, 10 per cent of dedicated water supply under the Telangana Water Grid Scheme to the industries, minimum inspection-maximum facilitation etc.
“If an official delays his part of work in the process of clearances of the project, he will be fined Rs 1,000 per day,” he said.
