‘Papanasam’ will reveal a new facet of Kamal Haasan: Gautami
Mumbai: Tamil thriller drama ‘Papanasam’ is heading to its release with Kamal Haasan, Gautami and rest of the cast and crew of the film promoting it in full swing.
At a recent press meet held in Chennai the actors were in a relaxed mood to talk about their film and more. Speaking to the media Kamal revealed that the film’s strength lies in its script. With the trailer being a bang on, ‘Papanasam’, a remake of Malaylam super-hit, Drishyam, is set to brak all records at the box-office.
The actor also spoke a bit about how it was possible for the cast to speak the ‘Nellai’ slang spoken in Papanasam, a picturesque town in Tirunelveli district. “I have worked with three other writers in the film – Jeethu Joseph, Jeyamohan and Suka. Both Jeyamohan and Suka have intimate knowledge of the place and the slang and were often very sensitive to the way the cast uttered the dialogue. They would stop us even if there was a slight deviation,” he said.
Actor Gautami, who makes a comeback to cinema and shares screen space with Kamal Haasan after a long time, said that this film would reveal a new facet of the actor. “We all would have wondered what else Kamal Haasan can do differently. After all, he has done roles of many shades. In this film, he has displayed an entirely new facet of his acting,” she said.
