HRD minister Smriti Irani's deputy, RS Katheria accused of forging marksheet

New Delhi: The human resources development ministry is in a tizzy with the fake degree row hitting HRD minister Smriti Irani quite hard. Besides this, Ms Irani’s junior, minister of state R.S. Katheria, has also been accused of forging his marksheet.

With the educational qualifications of both, its Cabinet minister and MoS under a cloud, uncertainty plagues the ministry as changes could become a reality soon.

The Delhi court taking cognisance of the complaint against Ms Irani on Wednesday came as a shock to the BJP, while Mr Katheria is also facing allegations that his graduation marksheet had been forged.

A case was filed in 2010 by a rival BSP candidate in the Allahabad HC alleging that he had given a fake marksheet. Mr Katheria is understood to be close to the RSS.
