Amid visa row, Lalit Modi calls Narendra Modi ‘a savvy man, can hit the ball out of the park’

‘You play on front foot even on the most difficult wickets’

New Delhi: Responding to a question on Twitter, former IPL chairman Lalit Modi on Saturday called Prime Minister Modi a ‘most savvy man’.

He also said that the Prime Minister ‘does not need my advice’.

A person on Twitter posed a question to Modi, “You play on front foot even on the most difficult wickets. What wud be your advice to our PM who is struggling to manage media," @ecstaticsaint asked.

In reply, he said, “When he (Prime Minister Narendra Modi) bats he will hit the ball out of the park. #respect only.”

Meanwhile, embattled Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje was in New Delhi today to attend a NITI Aayog meeting.

She was likely to meet BJP top brass amidst mounting opposition pressure for her resignation in connection with the Lalit Modi visa controversy, however that did not happen.

Rajasthan BJP refuted all allegations being levelled at her, saying that the document, which she signed in support of Modi's immigration application to the UK government was never produced in court as she had backed out of it later.

The top BJP leadership is learnt to have accepted Raje's defence as Prime Minister Narendra Modi met BJP chief Amit Shah and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley yesterday over the issue.
