Jibu Jacob to direct Mohanlal
It was the superstar, Mohanlal, himself who took to his social page to explain his upcoming untitled project. The luck of directing Mohanlal’s next project has fallen to Jibu Jacob who directed the immensely successful Velimoonga. This project will be produced by Sophia Paul who produced Bangalore Days and is scripted by Sindhuraj. Speaking about the story,
Sindhuraj says, “This is inspired from a short story written by V.J. James which was published in a newspaper. I saw the possibility of a film in the story and developed it further to make it into a cinematic presentation. The base of the film is the short story but otherwise the story is written by me. The relationship between a husband and wife form the film’s centre point and we did not think of casting anybody else other than Lalettan for the role of the husband.”
Jibu is excited about being given the opportunity to work with the legend and he says, “It feels like a dream to me. Lalettan liked the story very much and I should say that it is a very realistic storyline with incidents that happen in the life of any normal person so the audience should be able to relate to it.” The female lead has not been confirmed and Sindhuraj says that they are looking for someone who can match the stature of Mohanlal. The location and other details are being worked out and Sindhuraj is also putting the finishing touches to the script of an Asif Ali-Kunchacko Boban starrer.
