Decent performance, a decent camera, and an equally decent built, InFocus M330 is as decent as it can get!
The InFocus M330 sports a rear panel built out of a hard plastic. In spite of the material of the built, the phone feels sturdy and tough. The phone feels good to hold and touch, but it’s a tad bit inconvenient to use with one hand. The InFocus M330 is 9.3mm thick and weighs 170g.
The InFocus M330 features a 5.5-inch IPS display, with a resolution of 1280x720 pixels. The front panel sports an earpiece and an 8MP front camera, along with three sensors, towards the top, while the bottom of the panel features the menu and settings function touch-buttons. The display of the M330 is glossy, however, it rarely attracts fingerprints and smudges.
On its right edge, the smartphone features the power button, while the microphone and the charging port rests at the bottom edge. The left edge sports the volume rocker, and the audio jack is placed on the top. At the rear panel, the InFocus M330 sports a 13MP primary camera, with an LED flash and the InFocus logo is chiselled right beneath it. Also, a speaker sits at the bottom of the back panel.
Although, on the front of looks, the InFocus M330 does well, we felt that the large body could be an issue for people with small hands.
Under the hood, the M330 is powered by a 32-bit MediaTek MT6592 chipset, which comprises of an eight-core A7 processor clocked at 1.7GHz. It is accompanied by a quad-core Mali450 GPU, along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage space, which is expandable by using a microSD card. Connectivity options include dual micro SIM, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, LTE and 3G. The InFocus M330 is powered by 3100mAh Li-ion Polymer battery, which lasts for about 3 days on standby mode. However, the battery’s runtime will completely depend on the kind of usage on the smartphone.
The InFocus M330 runs on Android 4.4 KitKat operating system. The UI of the smartphone closely resembles Xioami’s MIUI. However, it does not have a dedicated app drawer, but somewhat like the iPhone’s UI all the apps feature on the desktop of the smartphone. The M330’s user interface is smooth and fluid, although it lacks responsiveness sometimes. Altogether, the M330 offers a decent performance.
The display of the smartphone has a great viewing angle too, and the display’s legibility in bright sunlight is pretty good—clear enough to read even in bright sunlight. The M330 also features Black Screen Gestures, which allow users to set 15 customised gestures that give them a freedom of quick and easy access to particular applications and features on the phone.
As mentioned earlier, the M330 sports a single speaker at the back panel of the device. The speaker is decently audible, however the audio experience is better with the headphones on. Also, the placing of the speaker is not very satisfactory, because it would always leave a user obligated to keep the face down whenever playing an audio file.
Moving to the camera, the InFocus M330 sports a 13MP primary camera and an 8MP front-facing camera. The pictures taken by the M330 are modestly sharp, with a fair balance of colours. However, the images lack appropriate brightness, and some landscape pictures were found to be grainy. Close up shots produced by the camera are comparitively sharper.

Wrapping up the review, we think InFocus M330 isn’t outrightly impressive. There are a number of smartphones like Xiaomi Redmi 1S and Moto E that are priced less than the InFocus M330, and offer a much better performance. However, priced at Rs 9,499, the M330 is a smartphone suggested for people who do not access high performance applications on their smartphone. It may not be one of the best, but the M330 fairs well in terms of its looks and performance, and its sure to not disappoint you.
