Radhika Madan, the much-loved Ishani from Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi, is happy with the kind of response her show has been getting. “My family, too, wants Ranveer and Ishani to be together and they bless me as if I were actually married. My mom and nani even post comments on social networking sites. If the channel posts pictures of Ritika and Chirag (villains) they comment saying, “Meri beti ko chhod do,” she says with a laugh.
The 20-year-old actress says that she is nothing like her character. “In my wardrobe, there are no saris or salwars in my wardrobe. We had a scene on the show where I don’t know how to wear a sari. That was just lifted from my real life. Also, I don’t cry at all in real life but on the show they make me shed a lot of tears.”
Radhika has also begun shooting for Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa and currently she is juggling both shows. “Jhalak is a dream come true. I was to leave for the US to pursue dance when Meri Ashiqui… happened. So this is my chance to fulfil my dream of dancing. I love hip-hop because I’m tomboyish in real life. Whatever I am today is because of Meri Ashiqui… So I cannot ignore that show. On the other hand my choreographer is working so hard on Jhalak, I can’t let him down either. We rehearse for two hours daily after my shoot.”
About the Jhalak experience she says, “This time we have different judges, technical guru, swag guru etc. So there’s no running away from that. The level of competition this season is very high as they will be watching every aspect closely.”
