PDS rice scam would go up to Rs 1.5 lakh crore

New Delhi: Chhattisgarh Congress leader Sahilesh Nitin Trivedi recently claimed that the PDS rice scam, in which CM Raman Singh and wife are allegedly involved, “would go up to Rs 1.5 lakh crore”.
As one skeleton after another tumble out of the saffron cupboards, top party leaders are working overtime to plug yet another potential embarrassment. It is learnt that one section of the party is in favour of an immediate change in the state leadership and replacing Mr Singh before the issue spirals out of control.
While Madhya Pradesh CM was virtually forced to request the High Court to initiate a CBI probe, the Chhattisgarh CM has taken no such step yet. A senior BJP leader said, “All such leaders who are becoming a liability for the party and the government should be summarily removed”.
