I don’t know who is stalling my film’s release: Simbu
When everything seemed to have been sorted out for Simbu’s long pending Vaalu which was scheduled for a July 17 release, the court slapped an interim stay for its release, putting the team in a spot of bother. A peeved Simbu tells DC that he suspects that some vested interests are trying to sabotage his film’s release. “I am clueless as to who is doing this, but reasons beyond my understanding and hidden forces against the film are in full flow, sabotaging me and Vaalu’s release.
This trend of stalling a film or causing disturbance due to its failure is becoming a racket these days. Even legends like Rajini sir and Kamal sir are facing issues with their recent releases. My film is nonetheless facing a similar plight. But I am confident that I will come out of this problem.”
Explaining more, he says, “We sorted out various issues related to the film one by one until we came across this company Magnum Rays claiming the release rights for this film too. They had alleged that producer NIC Arts Chakravarthy had sold Vaalu’s distribution rights to them. Now they claim that the producer has bypassed the old agreement, thereby not allowing my company (Simbu Cine Arts) to release the movie. On June 19, my dad spoke to the two parties and they assured him that they would go along amicably, which is when he announced the release date as July 17.
Having kept quiet for this long, they are creating trouble when my dad had made all arrangements to release in 300 screens. This sort of a behaviour is unheard of.” STR’s dad T. Rajendhar reiterates the words of his son, that there are people who conspire to stop Simbu’s flicks releasing, including Vettai Mannan and Idhu Namma Aalu.
