Bahubali Telugu, Tamil version tickets sold out in city

The film to be India’s most expensive film made with a budget of Rs 250 crore

ChennaiBahubali, the magnum opus of ace filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli and touted to be India’s most expensive film made with a budget of '250 crore will finally hit the marquee on Friday (July 10) in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam in nearly 4,000 screens worldwide.

The film stars top south Indian artistes such as Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka, Tamannah, Sathyaraj, Nassar and Ramya Krishnan, Sudheep in pivotal roles. The epic period drama has already created a huge buzz and trending everyday till its release. The movie is presented by Gnanavel Raja and UV Creations in Tamil and Karan Johar in Hindi.

And in TN alone the movie is all set to release in 350 centres and more than 575 screens, says Murali Ramanarayanan of Thenandal Films who has taken rights for the theatrical release in TN. “We are releasing the straight Telugu Baahubali in 40 screens in the city. And the tickets for Tamil and Telugu version have been sold out till the weekend. There’s lot of pressure and demand for the Tollywood version”, Murali tells DC.

He adds, “I feel proud to release Baahubali since it’s a milestone film in Indian cinema in terms of its mega budget and unique hi-tech presentation by master craftsman S.S. Rajamouli sir”.
On special occasions and for exceptional movies the show will commence as early as 5 am in suburbs. Baahubali is no different. Ideally, theaters can run a film on special occasions from 8 am, says an industry source. Though city theatres will start their first show by 11 am, all the suburbs like Chingleput, Ponnamalee and Porur will run the show from 8 am.
