Instagram was recently hit by a bug that increased the count of followers by thousands
The 30 additional countries where the service has been rolled out include Italy, Spain, Mexico, South Korea, Hong Kong, Indonesia, New Zealand and Taiwan
So you thought, in just one day the whole world recognised your importance and went all gaga over your photography skill? Sorry to pop your bubble, but that gush of thousand of followers on your profile was a mirage.
Instagram, a photo-sharing app, reported on July 11 that it was hit by a bug that made users gain followers by hundreds and thousands. Some users panicked and thought the photo app was hacked, but Instagram came forward to clear the air and informed users that it was just a bug and they were working to fix it. Once the bug is fixed, the count of followers will come down to original.
