‘I miss watching Shora grow’

Nawazuddin Siddiqui is a doting father. His son, incidentally born on his father’s birthday, is named Yaani. “Yaani means the king of cool. It’s a very peculiar name. Not many people know, but I am fascinated by music — especially background scores of world cinema.

During my free time, I enjoy listening to Mozart, Beethoven and of course, Yaani. I love to listen to their symphonies while travelling or before sleeping. It’s like therapy to me,” Nawaz says.

His daughter has a unique name too — Shora. “Shora means intellectual. She turns five in December. I get to spend very little time with her. Every time I return from a shoot, I realise she has grown a little older. I miss watching her grow.”
