Hyderabad: The training on interception, attended by TS, AP intelligence sleuths, included techniques and equipment used for political intelligence.
According to a GO (No. 493) issued by former TS home secretary B. Venkatesham on May 30, 2015, TS CI cell SP Rajesh Kumar, special branch inspector of police K. Sreenivas Rao and CI cell inspector of police K. Kastro got permission to attend the ‘Intelligence Support Systems World Europe Conference cum Expo, for Law enforcement agencies’ at the Clarion Congress, Hotel Prague at Czech Republic from July 2 to July 4, 2015.
In a similar GO issued by the AP chief secretary on May 29, SIB DIG B. Srinivasulu and CI cell SP P.H.D. Ramakrishna, attended the same conference. TS intelligence officials attended a similar training in Dubai in March 2015. In United AP, officers of the Intelligence department had attended a conference and expo by ISS in 2008 and 2014.
Mr Parakala Prabhakar, adviser to the AP government, said, “The TRS government has used the equipment and training against AP government functionaries. That has been our contention. We have evidence to support this claim.” AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had earlier alleged that the TS police used remote tapping equipment to tap his and other AP ministers’ phones from vehicles. A senior TS police official said, “We took our equipment from AP. But nothing was used for political intelligence.”
