Thalasserry Principal Sessions Court defers P Jayarajan’s bail plea

KANNUR: The Thalasserry Principal Sessions Court on Monday deferred hearing the anticipatory bail petition of CPM Kannur district secretary P. Jayarajan in RSS leader E. Manoj murder case to July 16.

Jayarajan moved the petition after he was quizzed by CBI sleuths recently soon after the agency took over the case from the Crime Branch.

RSS district Sharirik Shikshan Pramukh Manoj was murdered in Kathirur on September 1, 2014 allegedly by CPM activists.

The BJP leaders had accused that the murder was held with the knowledge of Jayarajan. Manoj was the fifth accused in the murder attempt carried on Jayarajan in 1999.

CPM Payyannur area secretary T. I. Madhusoodhanan also moved an anticipatory bail plea in the same case on Monday. The CBI has listed him as one of the accused in the case.
