BJP’s all-out support to Shivraj Singh Chouhan

Union ministers take on Congress, CBI team meets state CS, DGP
New Delhi: After the Central Bureau of Investigation took over the investigation of Madhya Pradesh’s Vyapam scam, Union home minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday defended Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan-led state government over the issue.
Mr Singh, who was in Nashik to attend the “dhwajarohan (flag-hoisting)” ceremony marking the beginning of the Simhastha Kumbh mela in Trimbakeshwar, blamed the Opposition for maligning the image of the BJP-ruled state government.
Another Union minister, Prakash Javadekar, also gave a clean chit to Mr Chouhan, saying there was no need for the CM to resign and that the truth would emerge sooner or later. In Indore, environment minister Prakash Javadekar said the BJP and the government were confident that the CBI inquiry would be conclusive and, sooner or later, the truth would come out and the Opposition Congress would be left with no argument.
Union minister Narendra Singh Tomar too said there was no need for Mr Chouhan to resign over the scandal. The CBI team probing the Vyapam scam in Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday met chief secretary Anthony JC de Sa and DGP Surendra Sinh to discuss logistical support for carrying out investigation of the massive recruitment and admission scandal.
