Salman Khan, Salim Khan and Kabir Khan back FTII protests
Mumbai: The Film and Television Institute of India furore has taken the entire nation by storm. With the FTII controversy refusing to die down, more and more Bollywood celebrities are joining the growing list of people arguing that Gajendra Chauhan does not merit the post of chairman of the prestigious institute going by his body of work.
The chorus against Chauhan's removal has been getting louder day-by-day with mega celebs like Salman Khan, Saleem Khan and Kabir Khan being the latest joinees.
Present for the book launch of ‘Geography with Bajrangi Bhaijaan’, Salman was seen in full support of the students of FTII, he said, “I think he (Gajendra Chauhan) should listen to the students, I think the students have made the industry what it is today.”
Salim Khan, who was also there at the event, said that if anyone had revolted against him then he would have definitely stepped back. “The simple fact is that wherever I am not wanted, I don’t even want to stay at that place. When there is so much opposition then you should withdraw from the situation with dignity.”
Meanwhile Kabir Khan also commented on the ongoing protests. “Because I am from a film school as well I understand the intimate relationship. You cannot demand respect, you have to command it and therefore I think in this case he should just step back.”
Previously Ranbir Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor and Raj Kumar Rao have also expressed their views on this issue.
