BJP, Congress spar on Facebook over ‘Ache Din’
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Congress MLA V. T. Balram and BJP general secretary K. Surendran are battling it out on Facebook over BJP national president Amit Shah's ‘Ache Din’ slogan. Mr Balram triggered the spat saying it will take 25 years to realise ‘Ache Din’.
Mr Surendran shot back nicknaming Mr Balram as the PM of Thrithala. Mr Balram has three times more likes than Mr Surendran and the BJP has urged the cadre on WhatsApp to ‘like’ its leader.
A day after Mr Balram kicked off his first Facebook post on Mr Amit Shah, Mr Surendran retaliated that his culture did not allow him to reply in the same vein.
Mr Surendran’s posts says, “Babyfood boys who had looked upon the young who had gone on a meditation in Bangkok and come back after 56 days will never understand what’s happening in their state. Even if someone tries to put sense into their head, they will never try to understand. When his mother, sister and brother-in-law were on a looting mission, your outspokenness was not seen.” Mr Balram called Mr Amit Shah ‘Amittu Shaji’ and said somebody who is well-versed in Hindi at the BJP headquarters should clarify when ‘Ache Din’ will be achieved.
Mr Surendran replied that Mr Balram should learn a bit of Hindi to understand what Mr Amit Shah meant.
Mr Surendran alleged that Mr Balram, who is ‘living’ on Facebook and who had won by a margin of 500 votes, should be given Hindi tuition by someone at the KPCC office.
Mr Balram replied that he had won by a margin of 3,197 votes and challenged Mr Surendran to win at least one election to get the feel of being a legislator.
