The star’s performance during the grand finale of Nach Baliye suffered a series of misfortunes

Mumbai: Everything that could possibly go wrong with Preity Zinta’s performance at the grand finale of the dance-reality show Nach Baliye on Sunday night did go wrong. And yet if Preity still emerged strong on stage it was because of her own willpower and the poor dancing skills of her co-judge Chetan Bhagat.
On Sunday morning, hours before the show, Preity was struggling with a string of problems. A source says, “Preity’s performance was being sabotaged. First, someone from the core team of Nach Baliye spread the rumour in a section of the press that she was not performing at the finale. There was absolutely no truth to the rumour. And Preity was angry, because she knew who was spreading these rumours. It was someone working closely with her on the sets of Nach Baliye who is close to the producers of the show.”
Apparently on Sunday morning, hours before the grand finale was to be telecast when Preity’s performance was being recorded, all hell broke loose on the sets when her props for the performance failed to work. A source says, “When Preity was ready to perform, her props didn’t work. She was supposed to enter the stage from above the audience. But the entry had to be scrapped. Preity took all the hitches in her stride and performed well.” But the question now being asked is, who was responsible for trying to sabotage her act?
