The talented Shravyah entered films at a young age but it was evident to her even as a child that movies would be a lifelong calling. As she grew up, Shravyah was straddling two worlds her college education, as well as her Telugu debut as lead heroine in Love You Bangaram, which instantly catapulted her to the top of the glam charts.
This 21-year-old is now ready to join the Tamil industry with her debut in Kollywood. “Yes, I’m the lead actress for the upcoming movie, Vellikizhamai 13aam Thethi, directed by Pughal Mani. As soon as I heard I could get a break into Tamil films I had to accept. It all happened very quickly; from the director spotting me, to the shoot starting. My role has major duality on one hand I’m a simple, traditional girl and on the other hand, a possessed maniac! Man, my first shot was actually on my birthday, and I spent the entire day yelling and screaming. Nice way to enter the industry, isn’t it?” Shravyah laughs.
She is paired alongside hero Rathan Mouli in the film, which is expected to hit screens in October. “The film is set in the present, so I could immerse myself into learning the dialogues and picking up Tamil. I’m a big language buff, so it’s exciting for me to learn my lines ... I haven’t seen too many Kollywood films, but I recently caught OK Bangaram and that was enough to make me a Mani Ratnam fan,” she concludes.
