Allu Arjun to be the Pro Kabaddi ambassador for AP and Telangana
Allu Arjun has been signed on to be the Pro Kabaddi ambassador for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana state when the league comes to Hyderabad on August 4. At a press conference in the city, the actor made a brief five-minute appearance. Looking dapper in a white blazer and jeans, the actor walked in as his famous song Nuvvu Super Macchi played in the background, wishing “good afternoon” (though it wasn’t noon yet).
“After movies, if there is anything I like, it’s sports. When I was approached for this, I grabbed the opportunity as I wanted to be associated with sports, in any which way I could,” said Arjun, adding, “The best part about kabaddi is that it is a true Indian sport. And through Pro Kabaddi the sport is being portrayed at par with International standards.”
The actor says he had played kabaddi in school and thus the association with the game makes him nostalgic. “I played kabaddi during my school days and it was one of the many sports that I played.” he says, adding, “More youngsters must take up sports professionally and bring recognition to our country.”The actor also adds, “If there is an opportunity I would like to buy a team in future.”
