Amitabh Bachchan-Jaya inspire Sujoy Ghosh’s next

Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya have inspired characters in Sujoy Ghosh’s next film. He has been roped in by Balaji to direct a film inspired by Keigo Huganshino’s Japanese novel The Devotion Of Suspect X. The director tells us that he has written the characters keeping in mind Big B’s equation with Jaya in Ramesh Sippy’s Sholay.

He says, “The Japanese love story reminded me of Mr Bachchan’s love for Jayaji in Sholay and Rakhee in Kala Patthar — the kind where he doesn’t speak much, but says it all with his eyes. It’s the same kind of love that Parambrata Chatterjee had for Vidya Balan in Kahaani. I want to capture that in my adaptation of the Japanese film as well. The film came to me from Balaji, I am just a creative force. We’re in the middle of the first draft of the adaptation, so it will take some time.”
