A night at the theatre
While watching a movie at a theatre, have you ever looked at the person sitting next to you and suddenly realised that he or she is a star?
Many actors have been spotted at various theatres watching Baahubali. While actors are rarely known to indulge in everyday activities like us, is Baahubali a one-off example for stars to descend among the common folk?
We quizzed Ram Charan about it and he revealed that he hasn’t seen a film in a theatre since his debut film Chirutha. “Watching Chirutha was an unbelievable experience. But I haven’t been to a theatre in India for the past four-five years. It’s not that I don’t want to, but I’m too tensed to watch my film on the first day at a theatre. I send my family and friends to watch films and get audience feedback. When I am abroad, you’ll see me at theatres and restaurants,” Charan says.
Sundeep Kishan is the complete opposite. “I’m a movie buff. You’re transformed into another world when you are watching movies on a big screen. You get engrossed and that’s what the whole experience is about.”
Rakul Preet Singh too says that she doesn’t like watching movies on TV. She shares a funny incident. “Usually, I watch films with Raashi, Regina and Sundeep. When we had gone to watch Fast & Furious 7, we didn’t get seats in one row. So we requested people in the other row if they could exchange seats with us. They were mesmerised that so many actors wanted their seats. It was sweet of them to oblige.”
When actors go out, they are recognised. Most people want to click pictures, does that bother them? Regina Cassandra says, “It doesn’t. Once, while I was watching my film Kotha Janta, the girl besides me started crying during one of the scenes. It was overwhelming to see people connect with my character.”
