One of television’s most loved and popular anchors, Manish Paul is back as the host on dance show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Reloaded. We had a quick chat with the actor about his return.
Excerpts:
How is it being back on Jhalak?
It feels great. It’s an awesome stage and I love being on this show. This will be the fourth time in a row that I am hosting the show, so I am looking forward to having a lot of fun in the coming episodes.
Is it more pressure as a single host?
Yes, being the solo host does increase the pressure but I actually don’t think too much about that. I just be myself and let things flow.
How has your interaction been with the show’s new judges — Shahid, Ganesh and Lauren?
I’ve known them all from before, so the timing with each one of them is super. They have all added a new zing to the show. Shahid is a sweetheart.
Karan and you seem to enjoy pulling each other’s leg…
I think he is one of the best. People love the fun we create. He is super fun on the sets and has a great sense of humour.
Are there any other films or TV projects coming up for you?
There’s Tere Bin Laden 2 releasing on October 30, apart from Katha. There are also a couple of award functions coming ahead.
As a host, how important is it for you to bond with contestants and put them at ease?
It’s very important to bond with everybody. I started this season by hosting a party for the contestants. Everybody attended and we had a great time because the more fun we have, the more fun we create on stage.
