Ajith’s song used as a movie title
Srinath Ramalingam has undergone a change of title as Unakenna Venum Sollu
Daisy, a sentimental horror film, directed by debutante Srinath Ramalingam has undergone a change of title as Unakenna Venum Sollu. Ask the director why, he says, “We did that because we need the film to have a wider reach. Since Unakenna Venum Sollu is the popular melody of Ajith in Yennai Arindhaal, we thought this would be appropriate for the film as it deals with the relationship of a father and daughter.”
Srinath adds, the team approached AM Ratnam, Ajith and Gautham Menon — the makers of Yennai Arindhaal and they were absolutely fine with it. Srinath says how the film is just not a story of a ghost, but holds an intriguing plot of an eight year old’s ghost.
“This story has a strong message about society today. I was very careful to present this horror story with the element of sentiment to make it a hit,” Srinath says and tells the film deals more with the spirit longing for parental love.
“The whole film is an inspiration from real life incidents peppered with family sentiments. Every child is born with a deep inner trust that the parents would be there for it forever. When that doesn’t happen, the kind of disappointments the child faces forms the rest of the story,” explains Srinath. Unakenna Venum Sollu will get released in the August last week.
