Keerthy and I couldn’t cope with Vijay’s working style: Vikram Prabhu
Vikram Prabhu is back with Idhu Enna Maayam
After playing a loud village guy in his last venture Vellaikara Durai, Vikram Prabhu is back with Idhu Enna Maayam, a movie which belongs to a different genre. Directed by Vijay, Keerthy Suresh has been paired opposite him.
“Contrary to the widespread rumours, I am not playing a magician in the film. It’s a love story and happens in two different timelines,” says Vikram about the film. The actor says that he and Keerthy initially found it difficult to adjust to director Vijay’s style.
“Vijay’s take on all the characters is completely different and he balances them very well. It was a new experience for me and Keerthy and I took 15 days to adjust to his way of work. He does everything on the sets — from being a light boy at times to an assistant director. If he feels that something on the floor needs to be replaced, he does it himself, and doesn’t wait for his assistants. He enacts each and every scene, and for every artiste.”
The Kumki star is all praise for all his co-stars Lakshmi Menon, Priya Anand and Keerthy Suresh. “The common connect among the three is that they all know Tamil very well and it made our job easy while shooting. Keerthy is a talented girl and picks things fast. As far as Lakshmi Menon is concerned we both were debutants while doing Kumki. So, we gell well.”
Vikram says he is fortunate to have worked with ace cinematographer Nirav Shah. “My last film as an assistant director was with Vishnuvardhan sir. I then had the opportunity to closely watch Nirav Shah’s work. I used to wonder if I get him for my film when I become an actor. Today, it has come true with Idhu Enna Maayam.”
