A week after opening up on a television show and revealing she had been bullied while she was in school, a former teacher has questioned the claims, saying that Kate “was friends with all the other children” and “was never in trouble”.
“I was chubby, always had big feet, the wrong shoes, bad hair. There was one girl who was horrible to me,” Kate had told Bear Grylls on the show, but the teacher, Carolyn Keston, denied it, saying, “We never witnessed or heard of any bullying... Kids are kids and sometimes teenagers may be a bit over-sensitive.”
Kate, however, later told The Mail, “I chose not to bring it to the attention of the whole school at the time; as is often the case in these circumstances, people being bullied can be apprehensive about speaking out.”
