Mumbai: Rohit Shetty’s ‘Dilwale’ and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Bajirao Mastani’ are all set to clash with each other on Christmas this year. While Eros is co-producing 'Bajirao Mastani', reportedly they are also keen to come on board for 'Diwale'.
Here's what happend. Reportedly, Kishore Lulla, Executive Director at EROS International, flew to LA to meet Shah Rukh Khan to discuss a possible collaboration. The two met in Los Angeles however the details of the conversation is not yet revealed. Red Chillies is also getting into distribution this year with 'Dilwale' so it is unclear about the role of Eros in the film, if they shake hands. EROS has a strong distrubution network in India and worldwide but if SRK's film releasing on the same day, there could a big fight over screens to be alloted to both the films.
With a possible collaboration, the release date issue may be sorted but knowing SRK, he is unlikely to step back under any circumstances.
SRK, in all likelyhood, may give overseas distribution of Dilwale to Yash Raj Films, who he had a successful collaboration with 'Happy New Year'.
