Poster war erupts in Gaya before Modi’s visit
New Delhi: JD (U) general secretary K.C. Tyagi said Mr Kovind’s appointment without discussion with the Chief Minister goes against the spirit of cooperative federalism.
“Such steps taken by the Central government are nothing but an attempt to gain instantaneous political mileage. The Central government is trying to destabilise the Bihar government. The Janata Dal (U) condemns such malicious practices of the Central government,” Mr Tyagi said.
“The JD (U) will hold talks with other Opposition parties on Monday and would also demand a discussion in Parliament against the steps by the government to destabilise the system of cooperative federalism. The Central government is also trying to create constitutional instability in other states, like Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Assam,” the JD (U) general secretary alleged.
Meanwhile, posters of the Prime Minister were found torn in Gaya ahead of his rally which is scheduled for Sunday. BJP leaders alleging involvement of JD (U) on the issue has approached the district administration displaying torn posters and demanding immediate action. Modi is expected to arrive shortly after noon to address the rally and fly out after it ends.
