Anam Mirza, tennis ace Sania Mirza’s younger sister is getting engaged to Hyderabadi businessman Akbar Rasheed on September 16. The date was finalised a few days back. Anam and Akbar have known each other for a while and the couple have been spotted together at various events in town.
While Anam confirmed the news, she didn’t divulge any more details. But sources close to the Mirzas say that the bride-to-be and her mother have been busy shopping for her big day. On Tuesday morning Anam flew to Mumbai to shop for a lehenga for the ceremony.
Designers Manish Malhotra and Abu-Sandeep, according to friends are some of the designers on her shopping list. For jewellery, Anam has chosen a heavy diamond encrusted choker from city designer Moni Aggarwal.
