Upendra, the Kannada superstar, talks about Upendra 2 and that he is ready to do more Telugu films

Kannada superstar Upendra, who is also popular in T’wood for his films like Raa, Upendra and Nenu, is coming up with Upendra 2, the sequel.
“This film is a continuation of my earlier film Upendra. In the first one, I spoke about myself and in this one, I will talk about everyone. What we are seeing physically and what is going on in everyone’s mind is completely different. It’s more like a psychological thriller,” says Upendra, who, apart from playing the lead, has also directed the film.
The first film was nearly 10 years ago. “I did a lot of soul searching in these years and then the idea of Upendra 2 came and I started writing the script. Though I started with a bound script, but when I saw the output in the end, it was completely different. So I feel that it was all according to our innermost thoughts and nothing according to our plans,” says the actor in a philosophical manner.
He adds that it is close to reality and everyone feels that the subject belongs to them. Upendra admits that he likes directing more than acting. “Because the director is the one who creates the script, dialogues and knows everything. Though it’s hard work, I enjoy it a lot. An actor’s job is also enjoyable, but compared to a director’s, it is simple.”
The actor had played a key role in the recent Telugu film S/O Satyamurthy directed by Trivikram. “I would like to do more Telugu films and I am ready. I am waiting for offers from directors here,” adds Upendra.
