Teeny-weeny delight

Here are some tips on how to team up that t-shirt right with a skirt or a pair of jeans
If there is one item that is truly transcendental in your wardrobe, it is the trusted t-shirt. You have worn it when you were unsure of dress codes, you have slipped one on for a quick trip to the grocer’s and even though you own quite a few, you know you have that one favourite tee which you wear ever so often. But what was in the realm of the casual is now quickly being appropriated by the fashion favoured by the red carpet chic.
That’s right, the loose and friendly t-shirt is now something you can wear to your glam evenings. How? One can always depend on Anushka Sharma to show the way. When the actress paired a simple black ASOS t-shirt with a pencil skirt it channeled an easy elegance without requiring the wearer to be a bling festival. The likes of Victoria Beckham and Amber Heard too have sported t-shirts that have been tucked into puffed skirts and a-line full length ones. This is one outfit that you can try this season.
Another trend made popular by Deepika Padukone and Cara Delevingne is the pairing of a tee with an interesting jacket or a pair of denims or stretched pants. Designer Sunil PS, who recently launched his collection in the city, says, “For curvy women, the go-to option should be a loose t-shirt paired with distressed jeans with a leather jacket thrown in. For women who are not curvy, lycra or leather pants with a t-shirt and a scarf – as is often worn by reality television’s Kylie Jenner – can spice up any outfit. Really thin women can also try the vintage denim which is high rise. You can tuck in your t-shirt and look like a diva.”
There are, of course, many other different ways of wearing a t-shirt like celebrities. Emma Stone, recently, wore a plain white one under an off-shoulder LBD, much to the delight of fashion watchers. Elizabeth Olsen attended the Avengers premier in the plainest of white tees – with a superb slit skirt underneath, that swept the red carpet as she walked. So bring out those 90s dungarees and break out those t-shirts for the fun evenings to come!
