CMs skip Governor’s ‘At Home’

“They might have been pre-occupied and did not turn up,” he said

Hyderabad: Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan on Saturday said he was acceptable to Chief Ministers K. Chandrasekhar Rao and N. Chandrababu Naidu and asked the media not to draw any conclusions over their absence at the ‘At Home’ hosted by him at Raj Bhavan on Independence Day. “They might have been pre-occupied and did not turn up,” he said.

The Governor said, after a pause, “There are three points. I learnt it from my grandchildren. They (the CMs) are absent, it’s a fact. There should be some reason for their absence. I don’t know the reason.” Mr Naidu was in Patti

Earlier, Mr Narasimhan and his wife received guests including Union ministers Bandaru Dattatreya and Sujana Chowdary, TS Deputy CM Mahmood Ali, ministers Nayani Narasimha Reddy, Dr C. Laxma Reddy, A. Indrakaran Reddy, Council chairman Swami Goud, Congress leaders Uttam Kumar Reddy, K. Jana Reddy and D. Nagender, chief secretary Dr Rajiv Sharma and DGP Anurag Sharma, apart from others.
